my excuse for the blog being so quiet for so long is that i went to bali, took a whole pile of photos, came back, and then couldn't get my shit together to go through them and do a post. thus if all this seems a little nonsensical and muddled, welcome to my world. all of this work is in bali, and infact all of it, except the last few photos from seminyak (which is only up the road anyway) are taken in kuta. many of them are more than likely to have been done by foreigners and/or expats i would think. both of which the place is crawling with. needless to say i don't recommend it as a holiday destination, but then you knew that already....

there was hardly any stencil work around, but this is awesome, and it went for about 3 metres!

an admirable sentiment, but kuta isn't really a place for respect of any kind from what i saw. no respect for women by anyone (including many of the women themselves), no respect for tourists by the locals, and certainly very little respect for the locals by the tourists. fairly hideous all round really.

these monkeys in black and red, along with the angry worm, appeared in kuta while i was in ubud for 4 days....

red monkey (with annoying flash)

the angry worm

crazy bull

love the samurai stencil

boys, boys, boys.....

this whole wall (and the next 10 images) seemed to have been done as a tie in thing with one of the local tattooists. lots of very non-graf amateur old school flash art tattoo type images. and they looked like they had been brush painted onto the concrete. it's somehow related to a tattooist in sweden. go to www.circletattoo.com if you're interested.

indian guy with eagle

creepy eyes

um...lots of things all at once

stuff

i don't know about samurai, i think there is something distinctly anakin skywalker going on here.

facing the moon

when i took this i thought it said tattoo, now i'm not so sure

croc/lizard type dude

same wall

unfortunately there was much crappy tagging

perky nipple on breast stencil

somewhere in kuta

this is quite a cool piece, it just looks hideous because the photo is rubbish.

hey look, apparently i went out in daylight ocassionally!!

this is sweet. i probably like it because the colours match the crappy dilapidated concrete surrounds.

this was painted on (as in with brushes)

tex

front of a restaurant

more kuta

i know this photo is totally shite, and possible even harder to see after i messed with it, but really....rad kids?? oh how we larfed.

from what i can recall this is on the wall along the beachfront just north of kuta (but don't quote me)

dunno

love that fish!

mr spray-can

cool

pretty sure this is the only political one we saw 'aceh community says we don't need freedom but justice love and yes peace!' note the poppies laneway directions, which are actually necessary when you're in a narrow winding seemingly directionless alleyway in the middle of the night.

l'orange

love that beetle

many of these were taken in complete darkness on my rather minimalist digi, hence the approximate framing.

power

is this signed by someone from sweden or am i halucinating?

no idea what this one says

sorry about these angles but the lanes were tight (and i was more than likely a little drunk also)

i really wish the car wasn't in the way (note the offering on the bonnet)

this is sort of bling (being presented by megan in best 'wheel of fortune' fashion.

so diupo was born in 1980. i'm not sure if adventure is his middle name however.....

diupo

duipo?

so the next 6 photos were all taken in one of the gangs between poppies 1 & 2 in kuta.
